TEIN PRESIDENT PROMISED WOMEN JOB OPPORTUNITY
PRESIDENT OF TEIN-UCC, MR ROCKSON BUKARI PROMISES TO EMPOWER WOMEN AND PROVIDE THEM JOBS THROUGH SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAMMES
The newly elected president of the Tertiary Educational Institutions Network of the NDC-UCC Chapter has promised to deliver a new paradigm shift in leadership which will see the women wing of the organization benefit from skills training programmes which will basically be targeted at empowering women and heightening women activism in the organization.
Mr. Rockson Bukari made these remarks in a speech he delivered on the occasion of his induction ceremony.
He said TEIN will introduce programs such as training in liquid soap making, production of beads, pasteries making, and other catering services which will serve the purpose of attracting the women who have remained at the fence for a very long time. He reiterated that the contributions of women to the success of every endeavor is indispensable hence the organization cannot afford the cost of sidelining the women.
Mr. Rockson further remarked that there is the need to whip up the membership base of TEIN by initiating proper registration exercises especially for freshers.
"Registration will assume a new form which will see to the registration our members on hall basis. My administration will introduce a new register and also rebrand the TEIN membership card since it is evident that the current card has become obsolete. The introduction of a database is one initiative which I believe will facilitate the mobilisation of our members," He said.
He further admonished the Senior members of the organization to bring their hands on deck to help train the youth of TEIN and develop them professionally. Mr. Rockson revealed that his administration will tap into the diverse expertise of the senior members in their various disciplines, in the areas of economics, finance, energy and education to help develop the youth and strengthen the human resource capacity of the youth to maximize the contribution to TEIN and the NDC in general. Emphasising this, he said other professionals in the NDC from outside UCC will also be invited to help in this course.
He finally advised the National Democratic Congress to unite to build the party strongly to capture power in 2020. He said only unity and team work are the roads they should all ride on as fars as recapturing power in 2020 is concerned.
