CHIEFS DISOWN ROYAL MEMBERS BECAUSE OF CHIEFTAINCY DISPUTE




The kosontire were the earliest Akan immigrants from Asante - Akyem juaso. According to legend that their founding father Otoku Dum, a courageous hunter from juaso , penetrated deep into the forest belt and killed a chimpanzee ( in twi Akonson) he buried the head at a secret spot and returned to juaso to disclosed that he had discovered a vast stretch of uninhabited.
He organized some followers with whom they set out to secret spot where they decided to settle permanently. For this reason they were nicknamed ( Akosontire)
They were under the leadership of Nana Asiedu Munkuo l
The traditional council consists of  Akosontire and Aboabo.
The Aboabo were also immigrants from Adansi Aboabo under Nana Kweku Apotae l.
Kosontire is the first settlers to welcomed Aboabo to cohabit with them becaus Aboabo is also Oyoko family led by Nana Apotae I.


For all this while kosontire - Aboabo were in peaceful atmosphere. But about two to three years now where Nana Asiedu Munkuo passed on there has been conflict between the Royal family at Assin juaso. As to who to burry Nana has become a challenge in the family,
The conflict is between Mr. Kofi Gyan and his sister Madam Nana Yaa and kosontire - Aboabo traditional council.

Nana Apotae iv chief of Aboabo addressing the Press on Saturday stated that, they were in danger because Nana Yaa and Kofi Gyan want to bring confusion to the town  of which they were not going to tolerate such an uncivilized act

He explained that, the two members  of the Oyoko royal family has arrange  for the burial of Nana Asiedu Munkuo and his  funeral without their consents  which is schduled on the 28 of January 2018 claiming Nana Kwantwi Barima and Nana Pra  Agyensam has assented to the arrangement of the funeral of which they knows nothing about the act.He said they are going to show them where power lays but not in an illegal way because they need Peace not war"

Nana kofi Ansah Adontehene ( acting  president kosontire - Aboabo traditional council) also made it clear that Mr. Kofi Gyan and his sister Nana Yaa has defrauded the community fund  a sum of 1.1 BILLION OLD CEDI'S which they duped Nananom after they were sent by it all because they trusted him.
" the case has been to court several times which he planned to jailed us (the chiefs) but to no avail". It is the sole right of the Royal family of Assin juaso led by Abusuapanin koomson and Gwira to lead and organize the final funeral rite of the late chief.

He then warn all stakeholders who deals with Kofi Gyan in the name of kosontire - Aboabo to part ways with him because he hold no position in the family ,he is not Abusuapanin nor kyidomhene and his sister Nana Yaa is not the  Queen mother of Assin Juaso as she claim to be.

The youth of Assin Juaso also supported the decision of Nananom to deal with them because they lack developmental projects because of this chieftaincy dispute. They also affirmed that they need job and peace so they will not fight them but they will take legal action against them to maintain peace and order in the town.
